The main purpose of the Department of Physics and Informatics is to train competitive specialists who are prepared for professional activities in scientific and educational fields. Accordingly, the mission of the educational programs is aimed at meeting the needs of society and the state for human and scientific resources of a new generation in the field of information and communication technologies, as well as providing sustainable support for the stable development of Kazakhstan’s innovative economy, which encompasses the internal systems of education and science.
Educational programs are developed in accordance with modern labor market requirements for specialists. According to employers, the educational programs are focused on training professionals who possess the necessary knowledge and competencies in the field of education.
In addition, the department provides training for highly qualified teachers of physics and informatics who are proficient in English, possess high social and civic responsibility, and are capable of carrying out professional activities in the following areas: educating and shaping a comprehensively developed personality of students; forming systematized knowledge in physics and informatics among learners; organizing the teaching and learning process in physics and informatics at a modern level; conducting scientific research and projects, including those using modern information and communication technologies.
The Department of Physics and Informatics includes educational laboratories such as “Mechanics,” “Molecular Physics,” “Optics,” “Atomic and Nuclear Physics,” and “Radio Electronics,” as well as the educational and production workshop “Technology of School Experiments.” These facilities are equipped with modern equipment in accordance with current requirements. Textbooks and teaching aids necessary for laboratory work are sufficiently available in the university library and are provided in multiple copies in the reading room.

Bolat Tasuov was awarded the badge “For Contribution to the Development of Social Partnership” (April 5, 2023, Certificate No. 68). He was also awarded a Letter of Appreciation from the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, N. Sayasat, for his significant contribution to the development of education and science in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as for his honorable work and dedicated service. In addition, he was awarded a Letter of Appreciation for becoming a prize winner of the republican competition “Altyn Zhuldys” of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Kuljamila Zholdassova was awarded the Order “Parasat” in accordance with the Decree dated March 3, 2025. Based on the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated June 13, 2019, she was awarded the юбилей medal “75 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.” The medal was presented on February 16, 2024 (A No. 00080211). For her outstanding contribution to the spiritual and social development of the country, she was awarded the badge “Honorary Citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and received a certificate (2021). By decision of the Taraz City Council of Veterans, she was awarded the badge “Honorary Veteran of Taraz” (2021). According to the decree No. 318 of the Akim of Zhambyl Region dated December 9, 2021, she was awarded the badge “For Services to the Region.” For her contribution to the development of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, she was awarded the “Golden Badge of Teachers of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and received a certificate (2020).
Temirkhan Bizhigitov was awarded the A. Baitursynov Medal by the Association of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan for his significant contribution to the development of the higher education system and his many years of productive work in writing textbooks for universities. He was also awarded the A. Baitursynov Gold Medal for his significant contribution to the development of the national higher education system, innovative initiatives, and the implementation of innovative approaches in training a new generation of specialists. In addition, he was awarded the A. Baitursynov Silver Medal for his substantial contribution to higher education and long-term effective work in developing university textbooks. He was also awarded a Certificate of Honor by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for his contribution to improving the quality of education in the spiritual and social development of Independent Kazakhstan.
Eskermes Samekeuly Musabekov was awarded a Letter of Appreciation from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2022 for his achievements and significant contribution to the development of science and to the spiritual and social progress of Independent Kazakhstan.
Sofia Shaimerdenovna Yegemberdiyeva was awarded a Certificate of Honor for her significant contribution to the development of higher education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as for her dedicated and conscientious service (Minister S. Nurbek, Astana, 2025). She also received a Letter of Appreciation (2024) for her contribution to the development of education and science. Additionally, she was awarded a Letter of Appreciation for her active participation in the activities of the territorial public headquarters supporting the construction of a nuclear power plant (NPP). During the organizational work, she effectively explained the importance and significance of the NPP to the public. Her contribution to this important national campaign was highly appreciated (Taraz, 2024, Chairman of the Zhambyl Regional Branch of the “AMANAT” Party, D. Beisenkulov).
Bibara Zhailaubayevna Kushkimbayeva was awarded a Letter of Appreciation for preparing the Zhambyl regional winner of the Republican Scientific Projects Competition in general education subjects and for nurturing talented, knowledgeable, and intellectually gifted youth (Taraz, 2025, Head of the Education Department of Zhambyl Region R. Sadyrkulov). She also received a Letter of Appreciation for her participation in the activities of the territorial public headquarters supporting the construction of a nuclear power plant and for her significant contribution to public awareness activities (Taraz, 2024, Chairman of the Zhambyl Regional Branch of the “AMANAT” Party, D. Beisenkulov).
Saule Adilkhanovna Raimbayeva was awarded a Certificate of Honor (Astana, 2024) for her significant contribution to the development of the national higher education system, for providing quality education and moral upbringing to the younger generation — the future of the nation — for training highly qualified young specialists, and for her active participation in public life.
Nadira Ashirovna Niyetbayeva was awarded an Honorary Diploma by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2025).
Gulnur Turataikyzy Yerkebulan is an Associate Professor (Docent), PhD, of the Department of Physics and Informatics. She is the research project leader within the priority area “Advanced Manufacturing, Digital and Space Technologies.” The project title is: “An Adaptive System for Text Translation and Teaching the Kazakh Language Based on Neural Network Algorithms” (IRN AR25793799).
Kanat Sholpanuly Abidin participated in the startup project competition organized in honor of the “Day of Science Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and was awarded in the “Winner” nomination (Taraz, 2024). He also became the winner of the “Tauelsizdik Urpaktary” grant in the “Science” category and was awarded a diploma by the Akim of Zhambyl Region, E. Karashokeev (Taraz, 2023).
