Description of the Department of Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics is a structural unit that provides training for specialists in the field of pedagogical education. The foundation of the department dates back to 1967, when the Zhambyl Pedagogical Institute was established. Currently, the department is part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of M.Kh. Dulaty Taraz University.
The academic staff of the department consists of 15 faculty members, including 2 Doctors of Science, 4 PhD holders, and 2 Candidates of Science. Most faculty members are actively engaged in research activities. This is evidenced by their participation in grant-funded research projects supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regular publication of research articles in high-impact journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, as well as in journals recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education, and participation in international scientific conferences and seminars.
The department’s activities are aimed at training professional educators capable of carrying out teaching activities in the fields of mathematics for general secondary, technical and vocational, as well as supplementary education institutions.
The following pedagogical educational programs are implemented at the department:

Master’s Degree Program:
7M01501 Training of Mathematics Pedagogues.
Students and master’s degree students enrolled in the educational programs of the Department of Mathematics study in Academic Building No. 5.3, located at 16A Zhambyl Avenue. The building houses 4 computer laboratories, 1 resource center, a library subscription service, and a reading room with access to information resources and a local Internet network.
The Department of Mathematics is assigned 16 specialized classrooms and offices, including the Academic M. Otelbayev Lecture Hall (5.1-402), Professor M. Muratbekov Lecture Hall (5.3-503), the “Methods of Teaching Mathematics” classroom (5.3-510), a study room for master’s degree students (5.3-501), as well as faculty offices (5.3-508, 5.3-515). Several classrooms are equipped with computer hardware and multimedia teaching tools (computers, printers, interactive whiteboards).
